Newquay Town Council, responsible for Concrete Waves Skatepark, extends its sincere appreciation to Naked Solar for generously providing two new benches. This donation was made possible through funding from the Boardmasters Foundation, significantly improving the family-friendliness of the skatepark.

Concrete Waves Skatepark has been a beloved gathering spot for skateboard enthusiasts and families alike. With Naked Solar’s contribution, Newquay Town Council is enhancing the park’s appeal to visitors of all ages by adding comfortable seating areas.

The two benches, made from recycled materials, provide a place for families and spectators to sit back and enjoy the skateboarding action.

 

 

“We are truly grateful to Naked Solar for their generous donation and the Boardmasters Foundation for their support,” said Drew Creek, Deputy Mayor at Newquay Town Council. “These benches will make Concrete Waves Skatepark an even more inviting place for families, friends, and skateboard enthusiasts.”

Shelley Sampson, Finance & Growth Manager at Naked Solar said, “Naked Solar are always keen to support projects in the local community. As several of our team skateboard (and our kids), the issue of making the skatepark more approachable to families came up. Some of the parents at the park decided to start a collection so we could purchase some benches, which would allow the park to become more inclusive. I then took the time to write a funding bid to the Boardmasters Foundation and was fortunate enough to secure £1000 towards the benches.

“In keeping with our environmental ethos, we selected benches made from recycled plastic, made in the UK and with a 25-year guarantee.”

She studied  Business Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University, which laid the foundation for her analytical approach to business scaling and operational excellence.

While her title focuses on finance and growth, Shelley’s core mission is centered on the customer experience. Having been involved in the business since its inception, she is a fierce advocate for consumer rights within the renewables industry. She ensures that every Naked Solar client is treated with transparency and respect, overseeing a culture that prioritises high-quality installations and long-term system performance over short-term gains.
