GivEnergy have been keen to create products that would save people money on their electricity bills. Whether it’s by making the most of your solar panels, or by charging the battery using an off-peak tariff, the GivEnergy range of products could have something for you.
A GivEnergy system is comprised of 5 different parts:
- Inverters: An inverter converts DC (direct current) electricity into AC (alternating current) and vise versa. Solar panels generate in DC and you use mains AC in your home. Batteries are also DC. Current GivEnergy inverters include AC Coupled 3.0kW, 3.6kW Hybrid and 5kW Hybrid.
- Batteries: Battery Storage allows you to store electrical energy from a generation source or off peak tariffs to use when costs are higher or there isnt enough generation to cover demand alone. Current GivEnergy batteries available: 2.6kWh, 5.2kWh and 9.5kWh.
- Metering Solutions: GivEnergy meters are required to collect date to display energy values and to provide monitoring points for our system.
- Communications: Connect your devices to the GivEnergy portal via WIFI or 4G and receive detailed information about your home energy usage, generation and battery.
- Isolator: A DC Isolator switch is an electrical safety device that automatically disconnects itself in the event of a fault.
Hybrid Inverters
The GivEnergy Hybrid Inverter is a battery inverter and solar inverter in one unit. It can be coupled directly with solar panels to generate usable electricity in the property, as well as storing any excess energy for later use in a battery.
With an IP rating of 65, the Hybrid inverter can be installed inside or outside and is available in 3.6kW and 5kW.
The inverter reports to the GiveEnergy portal, providing you with a detailed overview of your energy generation and usage.
AC Coupled
The GivEnergy AC Coupled Inverter works as a standalone energy storage system or works alongside solar, hydro or wind turbine to store excess energy.
Make the most of your split rate energy tariffs (e.g. Economy ) by charging the battery at off peak times when energy rates are cheaper and discharging during what would be the more expensive periods to reduce your energy bill.
By choosing a suitable battery size, you could benefit from cheaper rates of electricity all day.
