What is FIT?

FIT (Feed In Tariff) is the government-backed scheme which means your electric supplier (eg EON, N-Power, EDF, Utility Warehouse etc) will pay you for every unit that your system generates, whether you use it or if it goes back in to the grid.  The Feed in Tariff scheme ran from April 2010 until March 2019 and was designed to reduce the subsidy in line with the reduced installation costs.  Now that Solar PV installation prices are low enough there is no continued need for a subsidy so the Government finished the scheme in March 2019.

Tony Sampson - Managing Director

Ever since his first Solar PV installation in 2006, Tony has been passionate about the difference Solar can make to people’s lives and the planet.  With the backing of 9 years engineering in the RAF, running his own B&B and 7 years of people management (with excellent training) at Royal Mail, Tony had the skills and experience needed to set up a business in the Solar Industry.  Since obtaining MCS accreditation in 2010, Naked Solar has been focused on improving solar for everyone.  Going beyond just driving the business, Tony has been an active member of Solar Energy UK to help improve the industry as a whole.  He is a member of the SEUK Standards & Certification Steering Group, sits on the MCS Installer Forum to play an active part in guiding the industry to be better for all Solar Owners.

As Naked Solar opens more and more Hubs across the UK, the team is also growing and many other members of the Naked Solar Team are involved in various industry body committees, working groups and forums.

Solar is a very young industry that looks simpler than it is.  Naked Solar are keen to help any newcomers understand the pitfalls and difficulties to improve solar for everyone.  That’s why, in 2013 we stated our purpose over profit is to Improve Faith in the Solar Industry.
