Solar PV Panel failures are rare. Most of the faults on the roof we find are related to cabling, cable connectors and physical damage.
If you have obvious physical damage to your solar panels, please be aware that most manufacturers will likely not provide any compensation for this. In this case, you have the following options available to you:
If there is no obvious physical damage to a panel or cabling, do get in touch via our new Maintenance Enquiry form. We will be asking why you believe it to be a panel fault rather than anything else. If you are unsure of what the fault with your system is, use our “start here” guide.
We have seen a variety of issues with how solar mounting gear has been installed over the years. There are plenty of pitfalls when it comes to installing solar and there have been – and are still – many companies that lack experience. If you have reason to believe that your solar mounting gear is potentially incorrectly installed, not suitable for purpose, or has visible damage or degradation, please get in touch, providing the best photos possible.
Damage to panels, their cables, or their connectors can cause Isolation faults by allowing moisture to get in at these points. For more information on Isolation Faults, see the explanation on our Maintenance Homepage, under Other Faults.
Contact us through the Maintenance Enquiry page below if you need advice on panel or mounting system damage. We will do what we can to help over the phone and, if required, organise a site investigation.
