Empowering Future Generations: The Planet Maintenance Academy’s Training Day with Truro & Penwith College

On Thursday, 11th July, The Planet Maintenance Academy, powered by Naked Solar, had the privilege of hosting Truro & Penwith College for an enlightening T Level Industry Insights session. This initiative, in alignment with The Education & Training Foundation, aimed to equip the college’s construction teaching team with the essential skills and knowledge for installing Solar PV systems.

The day was structured to provide a hands-on learning experience, with 14 dedicated staff members participating in various activities. Our skilled training team guided the participants through the intricacies of measuring and installing solar panels on our purpose-built training roof. This unique facility allowed attendees to engage directly with the technology and techniques used in real-world installations.

Many of the Truro team members already possessed transferable skills from their roles in construction, which made the transition to solar panel installation smoother. With enthusiasm and determination, they rolled up their sleeves to install the mounting gear and panels, gaining practical insights into the process.

The success of the day was evident as every participant successfully installed solar panels. They left not only with new technical skills but also with a deeper appreciation for the expertise required to install these systems correctly and aesthetically. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing their amazement at the complexity and precision involved in solar panel installation.

This event marks the first step in a collaborative journey towards delivering comprehensive Solar Panel Training across the South West. By empowering educators with the necessary skills, we aim to foster a new generation of professionals ready to meet the growing demand for renewable energy solutions.

At The Planet Maintenance Academy, we believe in the importance of continuous learning and collaboration. We are excited about the future and look forward to nurturing partnerships that promote sustainability and innovation in the construction industry.

Stay tuned for more updates on our training programs and initiatives aimed at creating a greener, more sustainable future!
